Wow! A fun packed two weeks.

On Friday 29th June, a very hot and sunny day, the children in Nursery enjoyed a day out at Dell Farm. Everyone enjoyed the coach journey and when we arrived at the farm the children set off on a book walk linked to the story, “We’re going on a bear hunt”. We didn’t find a real bear but did discover an enormous cuddly bear at the end of the walk. After a picnic lunch in the barn, the children were then able to explore the farm, looking at the animals, stroking the friendly goats and observing a chick beginning to hatch from its shell.

Over the past few weeks we have been busy practising for Sports' Day. We had a great morning last Friday, and all the children did really well, especially as it was such a hot and sunny day. Following the event, they enjoyed ice lollies, and at the end of the morning, shared a packed lunch together in the nursery garden.

The children have enjoyed their experience of eating school lunches. We have had lots of clean plates - roast dinner was very popular.  The kitchen staff remarked on how well behaved and polite the children were each day.

The children were excited to spend the day in the Reception classroom on Thursday. Next week the children will experience “free flow” between the two classes during ‘Learning through play’ each day.
Today, we performed 'Caterpillar Boogie' and we hope you enjoyed the children's enthusiastic performance and the ‘Ladybug Ladybug' song. We were incredibly proud of them, especially as this was their first performance on the stage in the hall. We hope you all enjoyed the opportunity to share a picnic together afterwards.

We wish you all a relaxing weekend and look forward to seeing the children on Monday morning, refreshed and ready for the last week of term.
