Snails and Slugs

This week we have been finding out about slugs, snails and worms. We even managed to find a snail and have a close look at it as it moved across a piece of paper. We have also  learned a new rhyme about a wiggly worm, why not see if your child can say it to you.
In maths we practised ordering 3 (pretend!) worms by length. We then measured them using unifix and had a go at writing the number.

We also looked at 2D and 3D shapes and did some art work using squares and circles. We will be carrying  on learning about 2D and 3D shapes next week.

In RE the first RE group recalled the events of Pentecost they had heard last week, They listened to a story "Teddy Horsley and the Holy Spirit." We talked about how you cannot see the wind and you cannot see the Holy Spirit and how even though you cannot see the wind you can see it at work. In the same way you cannot see the Holy Spirit but you can see the Holy Spirit at work.We  released some balloons to see the wind at work. The second group will take part in this activity on Monday.

On Friday we all dressed in red , white and blue, the colours of the  Nepalese flag as we raised some money to send to Nepal.

Next week is "Stay and play week" Lots of people have signed up. If anyone who has not signed up yet would like to come and join us for the first hour of the day ,you are very welcome. Please come and chat to me about which day.

A huge thank you to Mr Dolan for all the work he has done this week in the outside area repairing the fence around the flowerbed. I am sure you will agree it looks as good as new new and we are very grateful for all the time he gave to do the job.

Here are a few of the other things we have done this week.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend
Jill Clarke
